About Me
My name is Dr. Michaela Musilova
I am an astrobiologist, speaker, analog astronaut and author. I have been conducting space-related research at institutions around the world, including CalTech, University College London, University of Bristol, Chiba University, and others. Additionally, I have been working with NASA, ESA, and international observatories such as the University of London and Canada-France-Hawaii telescopes.
My current project, #AstroSevenSummits, will take my team to the tallest mountain on each continent to perform educational outreach and scientific research to communicate the effects of climate change.
I was the Director of HI-SEAS and Commander of over 30 simulated missions to the Moon and Mars, in collaboration with NASA, ESA and many international organizations. I am currently a visiting Professor at the Slovak University of Technology, Global Faculty at the International Space University and Head of Research of a Slovakian space technology company, NEEDRONIX.
I have received numerous prizes and grants, including Top 100 Aerospace and Aviation Professionals on LinkedIn 2022, the Emerging Space Leaders Grant; Women in Aerospace – Europe Young Professional Award; Most Promising 30 Under 30 by Forbes Slovakia.
I regularly teach, give lectures and keynote presentations to a range of audiences worldwide and work with international media. Moreover, I write articles for Space.com and co-authored my biography in Slovakian, A Woman from Mars.
